The master’s responsibilities when on passage through the Gulf of Aden or Indian Ocean are immense and his crew rely on his authority and experience to ensure they get to their destination safely. Not all masters are security experts and not all masters are entirely comfortable transiting the region, so our Ship Support Service is the perfect antidote to make the master feel confident and supported.
We provide advice on enhancing Best Management Practice and effective countermeasures, we provide expert advice on Citadels and procedures for their use, and we deliver daily telephone support and intelligence for vessels transiting or anchoring in high risk piracy areas.
Experienced maritime advisors will engage with your bridge team to ensure your master and crews are as fully prepared as they can be.
Before transit we will provide the master with the latest security intelligence, and a comprehensive Risk Assessment to highlight any vulnerability, which can be remedied by many of our counter-measure recommendations.
Where possible, we will arrange for you to take part in one of the military convoys that operate in the IRTC. GoAGT has full access to all these schedules and will handle all the registrations, or alternatively we can book you into the Group Transit system.
Excerpts of the ‘New’ MMWC Handbook will be sent to you via email – including the invaluable Emergency Procedures and Responsibilities Checklist:
- 24/7 advice to Masters/Management on security
- Pre-transit advice
- Risk assessments
- Military convoy opportunities
- Latest intelligence
- Latest weather risks
- Emergency check list
- Responsibilities and procedures on-board

This service operates across the High Risk area.
